terrycraig asked: Damn, you're really good at animation; I enjoy the hell out of your gifs! Have you thought about giving a little insight on how you work (i.e. animate) to the lesser technically evolved admirers of your work? Maybe what program you use and what you have to mind to become an animator such as yourself? ... Oh, and I'm really interested in what it is you study (have to decide myself pretty soon) [don't wanna seem nosey, you don't have to answer every-/anything if you don't want to, of course]
Aww thanks so much! I’m glad you like them :)
Yeah no worries! The gifs on my Tumblr were made in Photoshop, it’s pretty simple to do, and unlike flash you can easily conjure up a nice textural quality to them. Definitely have a go at it if you’re interested in that sorta thang. This helpful tute for animating in Photoshop has been floating around places for a while and its got quite a few good tips, especially if you’re just starting out.

Having said that, I’m trying to learn TVPaint, a bitmap-based program that gives you those perks and has a better layout for Animation purposes. If you can get you’re hands around that, Go for it!
MMmmm What you have to mind to become an animator?
Go crazy, go mentally insane if you want to, and make whatever you want really..
I study Animation & Interactive media in Australia. It’s pretty swell, not as extensive as CalArts, Ringling and other such prestigious colleges, but it’s what you make out of it ;), and also PRACTICE and BOOKS!! There’s a lot of great books teaching animation… You don’t even need to study it to become one.
EEP sorry that was a long answer! I Hope that helps you and anyone else who’s interested though
Best of luck with everything :)
